You need to think of your house as a marketable commodity. Property. Real estate. Your goal is to get others to see it as their potential home, not yours. If you do not consciously make this decision, you can inadvertently create a situation where it takes longer to sell your property.
The first step in getting your home ready to sell is to "de-personalize" it
Always keep in mind:
DO NOT ACCEPT AN OFFER ON YOUR HOME BEFORE IT HAS ACTUALLY BEEN ON THE OPEN MARKET(MLS) FOR AT LEAST 1 WEEK!!
Lately, I've had the heart-wrenching experience of seeing properties sold before they hit the open market, and have personally had a buyer that would gladly pay more for that house.
As such I'm really urging you to take my advice and let me try and market your house for a few weeks before you accept an offer.
Quick sales are great, but an extra $10,000.00 in your jeans is nicer!
